Get Started
Get Started — Designing
The PointSav Design System gives designers a self-hosted vault of tokens, components, and research files your team owns outright.
Foundations
Start with the building blocks before moving to components:
- Color — the primitive and semantic colour palette
- Typography — type scales and font stack
- Spacing — the 10-step spacing scale
- Motion — timing and easing conventions
Components
The component library uses IBM Carbon's information architecture — four tabs per component (Usage, Style, Code, Accessibility) — with PointSav-original vocabulary. No IBM trademarks; no Carbon-derived hex values.
Token import
Tokens are published in W3C DTCG format at /bundles/tokens/tokens.full.json.
Import into your editor of choice:
- Figma — Tokens Studio plugin, point at
/bundles/tokens/tokens.full.json - Penpot — native DTCG import
- Sketch — Tokens Studio plugin
Filing a design issue
Open an issue on GitHub
with the label design. Include a screenshot and the component or token name.
Contributing a component or token change
See Contributing for the full process — including a worked example of a real proposal, from another product cluster's draft through review, acceptance, and the components that resulted.
